Does this use RJ45 connectors or something else?

RJ45, networking jack for IP camera.
I have just an orange light on my extender. No green led. What does this mean.

the yellow light is for power, green light is for data transmit.
Usually, the yellow light is on, and green light could be blinking.
if the green light is out, either the device has problem, or it couldn't communicate with the attached IPC.
